SERVANT'S HEART

So when He had washed their feet, taken His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, "Do you know what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them." (John 13:12-17)

Do you want to be blessed? Develop a servant's heart. We are His bond-servants, and a servant is not greater than his master. If Jesus can step down from a position of divine glory to become a man, and then further humble Himself to be a servant and wash the feet of twelve undeserving sinners, we ought to be willing to suffer any indignity to serve Him.

GUARD YOUR ATTITUDE

"Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given unto you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." (Luke 6:37-38)

We determine the standards by which others judge us. We always reap what we sow after we sow and more than we sow [Gal. 6:7-8]. Don't be guilty of a judgmental or critical attitude. God's word gives us authority to judge only doctrine and behavior and nothing else.

HE IS WORTHY

Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name (Psalm 100:4). I will praise the Lord at all times, I will constantly speak His praises (Psalm 34:1).

Praise God because of who He is, not because of what He does. Praise is pure worship and adoration. In praise you affirm God and express your love for Him.

JESUS IS LORD

Luke 14:26-27,33
"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters; yes, even his own life; he cannot be my disciple. And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple."

The believer must love Jesus more than any other person, possession, or purpose. We are to surrender ourselves afresh and anew each day to Him; that we might walk in the fullness of His Spirit and bring glory to His name.

YE CAN DO NOTHING...I CAN DO ALL THINGS

What a contrast we have in the above two statements that are taken from scripture. How can this be explained? "I am the vine, ye are the branches; He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit; for without Me ye can do nothing". (John 15:5) Here the Lord teaches us that He (the true vine) is not dependent on us (the branches) but we are absolutely dependent on Him. For in Him we live, and move, and have our being...(Acts 17:28) Without the Lord we are dead in our sins, we have no movement, no soundness of mind, hence (ye can do nothing). What about the above latter statement? I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. (Phil. 4:13) May I say if we abide in the vine there is nothing that is in God's will that we cannot do. Without Him we can bear no acceptable fruit, but with Him we can bear much fruit. Notice what the Bible says in Jeremiah 1: 6-7. Then said I "Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak; for I am a child". But the Lord said unto me, "Say not, I am a child; for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak".
