PRAYING FOR OTHERS

We have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. [Colossians 1:9-12]

Intercessory prayer is a very important part of a believer’s prayer life. When we intercede for others, we are reflecting God’s love in a very special and powerful way. I hope the following outline on Col. 1:9-12 will be helpful to you.

To intercede for others, ask God that they would…
Be filled with the knowledge of His will (Col. 1:9)
Walk in a manner worthy of the Lord (Col. 1:10)
Bear fruit in every good work (Col. 1:10)
Increase in the knowledge of God (Col. 1:10)
Be strengthened with all power (Col. 1:11)
Joyously give thanks to the Father (Col. 1:11-12)

Remember trusting God means looking beyond what we can see to what God sees. May God richly bless you as you pray on the behalf of others.
