APPLYING THE WORD

Bring forth fruit that is consistent with repentance. [let your lives prove your change of heart....Matthew 3:8]

Do you ever struggle with wondering if you do enough to please God? When Jesus was baptized, He had not yet publicly performed any miracles, or done any sort of ministry. Yet God called Him "My Son, My beloved Son, in Whom I delight!" [Matthew 3:17]. Likewise, God is delighted with you, if you are His child. You being His child pleases Him far more than anything you can do. Ask Him to show you more and more how delighted He is in you.

QUOTABLE QUOTES

We can encourage one another with our confidence that God is sufficient and He will be there for us, no matter what. Even in the midst of heartbreak, our deep, abiding pleasure in the Lord can strengthen both ourselves and others.

God calls us to live in His present grace, not to dwell on the if only and the what ifs of life.

Life brings trouble to us from many sources. But the common thread in all trials is the Lord's desire and ability to use those trails for our good and His glory. Through these experiences, we can let go of ungodly traits and experience sweet communion as we walk in intimacy with Him.

God has promised forgiveness to your repentance, but He has not promised tomorrow to your procrastination. [Augustine]

Many who plan to seek God at the eleventh hour die at 10:30.

You cannot repent too soon, because you do not know how soon it may be too late. [Thomas Fuller]

Religious activities can never replace a relationship with God.

God always gives His best to those who leave the choice with Him. [Jim Elliot]

We must learn to trust God's promises in His Word even when our circumstances suggest otherwise.

For the grace of God has appeared, with salvation for all people, instructing us to deny godlessness and worldly lust and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age. [Titus 2:11-12]
