DIVINE SOVREIGNTY

That God predestines, and that man is responsible, are two things that few can see. They are believed to be inconsistent and contradictory; but they are not. It is just the fault of our weak judgment. Two truths cannot be contradictory to each other. If, then, I find taught in one place that everything is fore-ordained, that is true, and if I find in another place that man is responsible for his actions, that is true; and it is my folly that leads me to imagine that two truths can ever contradict each other. These two truths, I do not believe, can ever be welded into one upon any human anvil, but one they shall be in eternity: they are two lines that are so nearly parallel, that the mind that shall pursue them farthest, will never discover that they converge; but they do converge, and they will meet somewhere in eternity, close to the throne of God, whence all truth doth spring… You ask me to reconcile the two. I answer, they do not want any reconcilement; I never tried to reconcile them to myself, because I could never see a discrepancy… Both are true; no two truths can be inconsistent with each other; and what you have to do is believe them both. [Charles Spurgeon] August 1, 1858

BITS & PIECES
Beware of becoming enamored with any particular theological system lest it deteriorate into a doctrinal greenhouse that cultivates theological arrogance, which, when in full bloom, produces a fragrance that is sweet in the nostrils of Satan, but is at once a revolting stench in the nostrils of God.

Be patient in the life of faith, although circumstances may often give us a false reading, God’s timing is always right.
God never intended for us to be strong on our own; He wants us to find courage, hope, and strength in Him and His Word.
Once the truth is seen it can not be unseen.
Surrender is essential, until you give every area of your life to Christ, you will never experience the true success that God wants you to have.
God loves us just as we are, but He loves us too much to let us stay that way.
People don’t clean up their lives before entering church; They come to church dirty! God does the cleaning of heart, soul, and mind when someone repents.
Life becomes fruitful as we surrender ourselves to God and carry out His will, by allowing His Spirit to live through us, we will find our lives characterized by significance and satisfaction.

WHAT THE LAW DEMANDS, GRACE PROVIDES.
