OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS

This is the name by which he will be called: The LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. [Jeremiah 23:6]

God is upright, just and holy. But the greatest wonder of all is that He has made it possible for us to be holy, too. No matter how hard we try we will always fall short of the perfection of God, but He loves us so much that He didn’t want to live without us.

That is why He sent Christ to make a way for us to become righteous. Because we are now righteous through the blood of Christ, we can live forever in God’s presence. In Christ we are holy and righteous, not because of our good works, but because of His imputed righteousness.

Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD ALMIGHTY; the whole earth is full of his glory. [Isaiah 6:3]

Who will not fear you, O LORD, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship you, for your righteous acts have been revealed. [Revelation 15:4]

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. [2 Corinthians 5:21]
