HIGHLIGHTING PROVERBS

A perverse man sows strife: and a whisperer separates the best of friends. [Proverbs 16: 28] A troublemaker plants seeds of strife and gossip separates good friends.

A violent man entices his neighbor, and leads him in a way that is not good. [Proverbs 16:29] A violent man seeks to lead his neighbor astray, encouraging him to be a partner in unrighteousness.

He winks his eyes to devise perverse things; he purses his lips and brings about evil. [Proverbs 16:30] Facial expressions can have evil connotations and compressed lips can express the determination to do evil.

The silver haired head is a crown of glory, if it is found in the way of righteousness. [Proverbs 16:31] A righteous life promotes longevity----Principle: elderly folk should be honored for their wisdom, knowledge, and experience.

He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city. [Proverbs 16:32] A man who can control his temper is a greater hero than a military conqueror. Victory in the area of self-control is more difficult than in capturing a city. If you don’t believe it, try it!

The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the LORD. [Proverbs 16:33] We may throw the dice, but the LORD determines how they fall. To put it another way; Make your motions and cast your votes, but God has the final say.
