ENABLING POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Just as salvation is a miracle, the sustaining of the Christian life is likewise a miracle. One becomes a Christian through the supernatural work of God, and one remains a Christian through His supernatural work. There is not a person who belongs to Christ, who came to that relationship except through the work of the Holy Spirit. Also no one can live the Christian life except by the power of the Holy Spirit. Apart from the Spirit the believer can do nothing.           

I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. [John 15:5]

His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. [2 Peter 1:3]

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. [Acts 1:8]
