GOD IS MY BANNER
Moses built an altar and called it THE LORD is my BANNER. [Exodus
17:15]
The Bible tells us that God is the commander-in-chief of
the hosts of heaven, the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the leader of the
army of the Almighty. May I say, God is always victorious, always triumphant,
and always the winner! As believers we are also on the winning side, even when
it feels as if we are losing every battle. Scripture teaches that we are more
than conquerors because of what He has done for us, in us, and through us.
Christ is our banner, so rejoice and give Him praise “for it is finished”
and we win.
For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against
your enemies to give you victory. [Deuteronomy 20:4]
With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies. [Psalm
60:12]
The LORD will march out like a mighty man, like a warrior he will stir up
his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his
enemies. [Isaiah 42:13]
And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle
of them, triumphing over them by the cross. [Colossians 2:15]
The most important of life’s battles is the one we fight
daily in the silent chambers of the soul. [David O McKay]
